EuroMedAI Delegation at the Paris Peace Forum 2026: AMSA-AI Stand and Speaking Sessions
Our delegation is in Paris for Forum week. At the 9th Paris Peace Forum on 10–11 November 2026, we present AMSA-AI, one of 40 solutions selected worldwide, at our stand in the Space for Solutions, and members of our delegation take part in five sessions of the official programme on AI governance, AI safety and AI openness.

A EuroMedAI delegation is in Paris this week for the Paris Peace Forum 2026, the Forum’s 9th edition, held on 10–11 November 2026 at the Palais de Chaillot. We are taking part in two ways. We have our own stand, where we present our support initiative AMSA-AI in the Forum’s Space for Solutions. Members of our delegation also take part in five sessions of the official programme, on AI governance, AI safety, AI openness and who gets to benefit from AI.
AMSA-AI: AI Literacy for Inclusive Local Governance reached Paris through the Forum’s 2026 Call for Solutions. It is one of 40 solutions selected worldwide from 607 applications, submitted from more than 30 countries.

1. Our Stand: AMSA-AI in the Space for Solutions
On both days of the Forum, the delegation will be at the AMSA-AI stand in the Space for Solutions on the first floor of the Musée de l’Homme. This is the Forum’s exhibition area for the projects chosen through its Call for Solutions, placed between session rooms and networking spaces.
One of 40 solutions selected worldwide
The 2026 Call for Solutions drew 607 applications from more than 30 countries, from governments, civil society, businesses, international organisations and research institutes. The Forum selected 40. AMSA-AI was chosen under the New Technologies theme, Growing Equitable AI Literacy and Skilling for the Future of Work and Education. Most of this year’s selected solutions, 68%, come from the Global South. Read the selection announcement for more detail.
What visitors will find at the stand
AMSA-AI helps elected women, civil-society leaders and local advisory bodies use AI safely and practically in their governance work. At the stand, visitors can:
- See the AI mentor at work. It is grounded in trusted governance content and available on the web and on WhatsApp.
- Hear results from the pilot in Morocco’s Béni Mellal-Khénifra region. 115 local stakeholders took part in co-design workshops, and the tool has supported 25 elected women and 10 civil-society leaders.
- Look at the safeguards on privacy, misinformation, source verification and responsible use, including clear signals for when human, legal or institutional guidance is needed.
- Talk about replication. AMSA-AI was designed to be adapted across the Southern Mediterranean, and we are looking for partners in Algeria, Tunisia, Jordan and Lebanon.
AMSA-AI is led by AIDECA, a Moroccan non-profit, with EuroMedAI as its partner for regional replication. The pilot is implemented under the Digital Democracy Initiative Middle East & North Africa (DDI MENA), led by Innovation for Change – MENA Hub with the support of CIVICUS.
2. In the Official Programme: Five Sessions on AI
Across both days, members of our delegation take part in five sessions of the Forum’s official programme. Together they cover how AI is governed, how it is made safe, how open it should be, and who benefits from it.

Roundtable: Is AI narrowing or widening the opportunity gap?
Tuesday 10 November 2026, 14:45–15:45 · Musée de la Marine, Roundtable Room 3 (Level +1)
Mohamed Alouane, founder of EuroMedAI and Executive Director of AIDECA, speaks for AMSA-AI in this roundtable. The session asks who benefits as AI reshapes education, employment and governance. It brings together initiatives from Latin America, Africa and Asia, covering AI literacy for teachers, digital safety for children, AI mentorship for women leaders and policy readiness for governments. The aim is to show how individual skill-building and institutional preparedness can work together, so that AI becomes a source of opportunity rather than disruption.
The roundtable is moderated by Dr Valerie Nkamgang Bemo, Deputy Director, Global Development, Gates Foundation. Mohamed Alouane is joined by:
- Dr Hoda Dahroug, Advisor to the Minister for Digital Community Development, Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Digital Citizenship and Internet Safety, Wa3i)
- Svaradiva Devi, Regional Programme Manager, AI Safety Asia (RAISE SEA)
- Mariana Díaz Kraus, Institutional and Strategic Alliances Director, Movilizatorio (DigiMENTE Artificial Intelligence)
- Karen Kelly, Head of Partnerships & Fundraising, Laboratoria (Kickstart your Career)
- Ivann Liberatore, French Deputy Representative to the ILO and to the G7-G20 Labour & Employment track
- Raphaëlle d’Ornano, CEO and founder, Decoding Discontinuity
- The winner of the #YouthTrack Global Arena Debate, bringing the voice of the next generation
Our contribution starts at the municipal level. AI governance is usually discussed by national governments and international bodies. AMSA-AI begins with the municipal council, the local association and the advisory committee, where public decisions affect people directly and where reliable guidance on AI is often hardest to find. In Paris, we argue that AI literacy only creates real opportunity when the institutions around people can adopt AI safely and govern it.
Four more sessions on AI governance, safety and openness
Members of our delegation also take part in four further sessions in the Forum’s emerging technologies track.
Beyond Concentration and Fragmentation: How to Make the Most of AI Openness? Tuesday 10 November, 09:30–10:30 · Roundtable 2, Musée de la Marine
Open models lower the cost of entry and let more actors build AI in the languages and contexts the market overlooks. Compute, data and skills, however, remain unevenly shared. The session asks what international partners need to organise together so that the gains of open AI ecosystems are shared.
“Is Another AI Possible?” Building an Alternative Stack Through North–South Cooperation Tuesday 10 November, 10:00–11:15 · Stage A, Chaillot TND
A main-stage session on whether countries, particularly in the Global South, can pool their data, talent and resources into a credible alternative to depending on a few dominant AI providers. It follows on from the Paris AI Action Summit, the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi and the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi.
Checks and Balances for the AI Age: The Next Phase of AI Governance Wednesday 11 November, 10:45–11:30 · Stage B, Musée de l’Homme
How governments, industry and independent institutions can work together on evaluations, safeguards and incident governance for frontier AI. The session builds on the Bletchley Park and Seoul AI Summits, the G7 Hiroshima AI Process and the OECD’s reporting framework, and looks ahead to the UK’s 2027 G20 presidency.
Collaborative Blueprint for Trustworthy AI: International Frameworks and Corporate Strategy Wednesday 11 November, 15:30–16:15 · Stage D, Musée de la Marine
France convened a UN Security Council meeting on AI safety on 23 September. This panel follows on from it, looking at how public and private actors can prevent and respond to AI incidents, and how international frameworks and voluntary commitments can reinforce each other.
These are questions the Southern Mediterranean faces directly: access to compute and data, dependence on technology built elsewhere, and safeguards that work for local institutions. Our delegation brings the region’s perspective, and the evidence from AMSA-AI, into each of these conversations.
Our presence in Paris builds on our work this year. We co-organised an official side event of the UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance in Geneva, showcased AMSA-AI at the AI for Good Global Summit, and brought a delegation to the Mediterranean AI Forum in Marseille last week.
About the Forum
The Paris Peace Forum brings together governments, international organisations, businesses and civil society to work on global governance. Its 9th edition, under the theme From Sovereignty to Cooperation, makes the case that sovereignty alone will not solve global problems. Cooperation is still needed on climate, development, conflict resolution and the governance of disruptive technologies such as AI. The edition is a key date of the French Presidency of the G7.
The Forum will announce its 2026–2027 Scale-up Program cohort at its closing ceremony on 11 November. All sessions are recorded and published on the Forum’s YouTube channel. Follow the Forum with #PPF2026.
