Our Origin

EuroMedAI was born from the spirit of collaboration and intercultural dialogue embodied by the Anna Lindh Foundation Forum 2025 in Tirana, where the motto 'From Dialogue to Action' became a practical commitment. In this Euro-Mediterranean space that brought together civil society actors, researchers, policy makers, and young innovators, a clear need emerged for a specialized platform addressing the intersection of artificial intelligence with values of dialogue, human rights, and the public interest in the region. In response, EuroMedAI was established as a cross-border network working to empower Mediterranean actors to participate in shaping AI governance, promote responsible use of emerging technologies, and unify Mediterranean voices in regional and global discussions about the future of artificial intelligence.
