EuroMedAI joined the UfM Trade & Investment Forum to present insights from its latest South Mediterranean AI capacity report, engaging partners on regional integration, dialogue, and financing for responsible AI development.

EuroMedAI at the 7th UfM Trade & Investment Forum in Barcelona
EuroMedAI participated in the 7th UfM Trade & Investment Forum on 10 December 2025 in Barcelona, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Barcelona Process and the adoption of a new UfM strategic vision. The forum focused on three themes: global trade disruption, trade integration in the UfM region, and cross-border investment and bankable projects, with emphasis on green energy, digital services, and sustainable production.

- Presented insights from our latest South Mediterranean AI capacity report, sharing evidence with participants.
- Highlighted how regional integration, dialogue, and innovative financing mechanisms can accelerate responsible AI development across the Mediterranean.
- Engaged with partners and delegates on AI’s role in supporting resilient trade and investment flows.

Forum context (UfM)
- Organized under the mandate of the 10th UfM Ministers of Trade (Brussels, 19 March 2018), the forum continues as the flagship annual platform to assess regional trade and investment trends and mobilize partners for cooperation.
- Opened by UfM Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Meltem Büyükkarakaş, underscoring coordinated regional action to respond to global trade disruptions.
- Discussions will inform upcoming UfM Ministerial on Trade and actions under the UfM Hub for Jobs, Trade and Investment.
