AI for industrial and sustainable transformation
The Mediterranean Artificial Intelligence Forum 2026 brings together innovation stakeholders, industrial communities, public decision-makers, digital experts, entrepreneurs and institutional representatives from across the Mediterranean.
The programme addresses the role of artificial intelligence in the region’s economic and industrial transformation, with particular attention to Industry 4.0 and the transition to a low-carbon industrial economy.
EuroMedAI at the forum
EuroMedAI mobilised experts from across its network for the forum, bringing researchers, civil society and technologists from both shores into a conversation that is otherwise dominated by industrial and investment actors.
That contribution matters for the substance of the discussion. Our regional research on AI capacity — compute, data governance, skills and adoption across the South Mediterranean — is directly relevant to whether industrial AI adoption in the region is distributed or concentrated. Bringing that evidence into an industrial forum is how governance questions reach the people making deployment decisions.
Connecting projects with the partners they need
A Call for Challenges ran from 17 June to 10 July 2026 to identify up to five mature projects seeking to scale across the Mediterranean, addressing practical barriers including:
- Scaling or adapting existing technologies
- Navigating regulatory requirements
- Accessing data and finance
- Finding industrial or institutional partners
- Expanding beyond a project’s original market
Selected challenges take part in co-creation workshops, targeted matchmaking and reverse-pitch sessions connecting project leaders with investors, academic partners and public institutions.
Priority sectors
The forum focuses on projects rooted in the Mediterranean context and already tested in their country or region:
- Industry 4.0
- Carbon-emissions monitoring
- Healthcare
- Agrifood
- Maritime industries
A regional coalition
The forum takes place with the support of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Expertise France, Facteur C and ANIMA Investment Network, alongside the public, private and research communities convened around it.
